Sunset Beach Trust Waikato 50th Celebrations - 4th December 2009
The Sunset Beach Lifeguard Service is thrilled to be celebrating 50 years of saving lives at Sunset Beach, Port Waikato.
Previously known as the Port Waikato Surf Life Saving Club and the Sunset Beach Surf Life Saving Club, there has been a long
and dedicated history with a growing group of enthusiastic lifeguards keeping the stretch of wild-west coast beach
south of the Waikato River Mouth patrolled for the public’s safety.
Friday 4th December – 6pm at the Club House, 1 Ocean View Road, Port Waikato.
The weekend celebrations will commence with a meet and greet function serving delicious finger food and
complimentary beverages. The current members welcome all past members and their families to come and see the facilities,
talk about the good old days, and view the photographic exhibition on display.
Saturday 5th December – 6pm at the Port Waikato School Camp, Port Waikato-Waikaretu Road.
The formal-dress evening function will commence with canapés and drinks from 6pm.
Dinner will be served from 7pm. Beer, wine and non alcoholic beverages, are included.
The 50th Anniversary Dine and Dance function will also feature an audio visual presentation capturing the early days,
dramatic rescues, the people and faces of lifesaving at Port Waikato, and much, much more.
Live music will follow with plenty of room for those who wish to dance, with the music of the Confederates.
Function capacity at the School Camp is limited to 140. Tickets are priced at $95 per person. To secure your ticket,
please complete the on-line registration and payment form or post your registration form and cheque directly to
Sunset Beach Lifeguard Service Inc.
We do expect this function to sell out!
